Deja Vu: J. Cole Goes Platinum With No Features...Again

I feel like we’ve been here before.
It’s Deja Vu all over again for Dreamville visionary J. Cole, who once again celebrates the platinum status of his most recent studio album 4 Your Eyez Only as of Friday, April 7. According to Rap-Up, this is the “rapper’s fourth album to reach that highly-coveted RIAA certification,” selling 363,000 copies within a week of its release.

The Fayetteville, NC native silently dropped the album on Dec. 9, 2016 to immediate critical acclaim. As with 2014 Forest Hills Drive, J. Cole has achieved yet another featureless feat with 4 Your Eyez Only, the sole voice ringing over the production of Peter Cottontale, Frank Dukes, Deputy and Childish Major being that of Jermaine Cole himself.

And there’s more.
Cole also announced the premiere of yet another HBO documentary, following up on last January’s J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming, that will debut on the cable network on April 15.
Combine this news and the release of Joey Badass’s All Amerikkkan Bada$$ plus K. Dot’s ALBUM, expected to drop April 14th, and this will go down as a April to remember in Hip-Hop.
