Kendrick Lamar's "Humble." Has Best Hot 100 Rap Debut Since 2010

The Humble pie has been served.

Kendrick Lamar's latest scorching single “Humble.” has ascended to the #2 slot on the Hot 100 chart in its first week. The record, rife with what could be perceived as jabs directed at many of K-Dot's Hip-Hop contemporaries, tallied 111,000 sales to coincide with 49.8 streams.

According to Billboard, this is the best premiere for a rap song since 2010, when Eminem and RiRi's “Love the Way You Lie” achieved the same feat, also debuting at the #2 spot.

“Humble.” is Kendrick's highest-charting single as a solo artist, though he has hit #1 in tandem with Taylor Swift on “Bad Blood” in addition to two other features that landed in the Top 10. With this, the 7-time Grammy award winner has now outdone his previous Hot 100 best, his single “Swimming Pools (Drank)” which peaked at #17 in 2012.

It would appear all is forgiven since fans of TDE's top gun were made to believe his newest album ‘ALBUM’ would be released April 7th. The countdown is now set for April 14th, the album’s official release date.

Yet another reason April 2017 will go down as one for the ages in the world of Hip-Hop.
