Takeoff Shot And Killed In Houston

Takeoff, one-third of the highly influential Atlanta rap group Migos, died Tuesday in a Houston shooting at age 28, according to reports from Variety and Billboard. Houston police said one person was fatally shot and two others were injured early Tuesday at a private party attended by members of Migos.

Police responded shortly after 2:30 a.m. to reports of a shooting at 810 Billiards & Bowling, where dozens of people had gathered on a balcony outside of the bowling alley, which is on the third floor, police said. Officers discovered one man dead when they arrived.

Security guards who were in the area heard the shooting but did not see who did it, Willkens said. Two other people were injured and taken to hospitals in private vehicles, police said.

The three Atlanta rappers rose to fame the summer of 2013 with their single “Versace.” Their song “Bad and Boujee” featuring rapper Lil Uzi Vert climbed to the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in 2017, making it the group’s first No. 1 single.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
